WHO
WE ARE

Board of Directors

We are a small group of people with big dreams and big hearts!

Our purpose is to give hope to rural communities through improvement and restoration. Our resources will be concentrated on housing, assets for the public, and community programs.

Founded in June of 2023, Koinonia Tou Elpis was the culmination of a grassroots effort to make a difference. From potato feeds to charity sporting events to community clean up days, there were group of people that were ready to see change. While working with other people and organizations, we realized that our efforts could be amplified by forming a non-profit that could leverage tax-deductible donations and grants.

Sometimes life's greatest stories begin with the humblest beginnings - and our story started in a dying ghost town in rural Oklahoma.  We don't know the rest our story, but the next chapter is brighter because we are in it together. With a vision and a purpose, our horizon is full of hope -- will you join our cause?

Rose Moyer

Rose has spent her life on a farm nearby the town of Deer Creek, raising two sons alongside her husband, Chuck. Rose served her community and helped shape many young minds as an educator at Deer Creek-Lamont Elementary School. Known for her generosity and compassion, she currently serves as Treasure of Koinonia.

Don Bachman

Don devoted his life to raising 4 boys and continuing the family tradition of agriculture. He was raised in the same house his grandfather and great grandfather built in the 1920s. He founded the Deer Creek Food Pantry and served on the Board of Directors for several years prior to serving as Vice President of our Board.

Cindy Croft-Bachman

Cindy previously founded a separate non-profit and grew it into a thriving organization that focuses on special needs and child development. Her heart for the marginalized and overlooked in society lives on through her former non-profit, which continues its success even beyond her 2021 retirement. Cindy currently serves as Secretary of the Board.

Celia Palmer

Celia currently serves as the Executive Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Oklahoma. With roots in Deer Creek dating back to the establishment of the town, Celia has a passion for seeing vibrancy restored to this small community. A recent addition to the Board of Directors, Celia brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise, and passion.

Brian Bachman

A graduate of Deer Creek-Lamont, Brian is passionate about bringing resources and opportunities to the community that raised him. He has partnered with family and friends to renovate several houses in the community. Brian, alongside his wife Megan, is raising 2 sons and is currently serving as President of the Board.
